I dunno. Have you ever heard Kofi Annan speak? This is one very intelligent, extremely diplomatic individual...I heard him on a live news conference, and he just blew me away, how deft he was at handling a variety of issues in a sensitive way at one time. So...perhaps being smart doesn't preclude someone from being corrupt...but I have real doubts about this, particularly when it is the American Right Wing taht has been so after him. I will withhold any opinion on this until there is some solid proof of his corruption. As it is, I have heard that there is a lot of information about US's involvement in the "Oil for Food" scandel...as I recall...Mr Gamble (from the British Parliament) spoke pretty directly to that when he was interrogated by the Senate committee awhile back (I'll have to track down his quotes...). But...sorry...this feels like an effort to scapegoat/destroy Mr. Annan, a Bush trademark, if there ever was one.

those weren't quite what I was thinking...though I was certain it was him who clearly linked the US with the UN Food for oil "scandel"...hmm, will have to keep searching...

I trolled you for a second by complete accident.  Sorry about that. My mouse plays little tricks on me. I'll give you a 4 to make up for that. Good thing we can change our ratings.
