Well, writing is an attempt to communicate, but it feels very devoid of context sometimes. Writing in a community where you comment a fair bit seems more like actual communication.

I guess we can see that:

a) I'll never write the Great UKian novel

and

b) I'm not cut out for journalism either.

I think you are underestimating yourself. As we say in German: "Übung macht den Meister" or practice, practice, practice :-)
