Okay, now I just read this through more carefully and throughly...and WOW! Exceptional piece of writing. I figure it must have taken you a few hours, and I'm truly impressed...I learned a lot, most importantly. This really caught my eye:
Muhammad has battled his orphan roots and in part through his renowned honesty and fairness has become a wealthy merchant in Mecca. All is not well and he is troubled by the poverty and unfairness he sees around him.

So Muhammad was effected by social injustice...and wanted to change it. The irony...that today the West and much of the Muslim world is caught up in so much social injustice. And I did not know this...

I do hope you do a piece on the Sufi's, as I am keen to learn their past, present and possible future role.

But really, a most optimistic and wise piece...thank you so much, Metatone!

"few hours" yeah, worse, it took me a few more hours than I thought it would... I'm about a day behind now...  ;-)

no kidding, a well written piece really takes some hours. I'm so impressed when someone puts this much time in...and again, your piece is exceptional, thanks!
