I note I added a sentence I somehow omitted in the Retribution chapter:

...
A paramilitary because as I wrote in the earlier diaries, large parts of the military, police and the Party itself joined the revolution. (In November, Kádár could only gather 40,000 Party members -- the old pre-Revolution Party had 1 million.)...
