brilliant, thanks deanander.

i am speechless at the destructive power of our tinkering, and nauseated at the massive greed and energy-discounting that the nuke industry embodies.

please let us wake up to the fact that nuclear power is the most horrific of so-called solutions to our energy problem, and should be virulently opposed at every step of its horrible trajectory.

europe, still suffering, should be especially concerned, and the amount of badly designed reactors in eastern europe still is unbearably depressing to contemplate.

and people want to build more?

oh man...

The EU has been paying the new member states (most notably, Slovakia) to close old Soviet-time power plants.

...but let the Czech Republic finish another, despite heavy protests from Austria.

This nuclear power plant at Temelin

is on top of a hill and hence visible from a large part of Southern Bohemia. The Czech government intends to build two additional reactors there, in order to retire the older plant at Dukovany.
