Citgo, an American gas station chain, owned by PDVSA, in turn owned by the Venezuelan governemnt, recently announced it was going to stop supplying about 100 stores in several states.  Citgo was purchasing 130,000 barrels a day to supply these stations from other producers, and losing money on the deal.  This led to fears that Venezuela was going to cut off oil shipments to the US.
