Yes! At the very least, there should be a display that lists replies to ones comments in reverse time-order, rather than listing the comments themselves. I'd prefer that this be the default mode for viewing my comments.
This would have the emergent virtue of allowing older diaries to support ongoing discussions. If one were to reply to a comment, the author would see it, no matter how old the thread. With the "recent comments" feature, the renewed discussion could perhaps draw the attention of the broader community. Words and ideas I offer here may be used freely and without attribution.
