Your initiative meets an expectation that has been expressed several times on ET: we have often said the political parties, especially the left, should adopt a Europe-wide approach for the main political, economic and social issues. This is particularly relevant for the European elections campaign. Thanks for establishing the link with PES manifesto.
Even if I think we should encourage every ET diarist/user/lurker to contribute to your project, I also think we could better exploit the collective added-value we have been able to develop through this community by working together to prepare collective ET contributions on some issues we have been debating on ET (and some more).
I think it would be worth having a diary to identify the themes/issues about which we would like to make an ET contribution and to list who would like to work on them.

The idea of a specific ET contribution sounds very interesting, please keep me updated on this. If you want more details about our four themes I suggest that you take a look at the consultation's discussion papers: http://www.manifesto2009.pes.org/en/documents/ They are available in several languages.
BTW - right now it is highly important for us to spread the word about the consultation and reach progressive communities all over Europe - so if any Eurotrip users know people with an interest in our initiative, it would be great if you would let them know. Sara * http://www.manifesto2009.pes.org
I have a question: is it possible to be a PSE activist without being a member of a national party? Because I would certainly consider joining a European Socialist Party, but I don't want to join the French Socialist Party as it is today... "Ne te courbe que pour aimer..." René Char
I do have communication lines :-) but so do you and colman, I think?
Will a PES member step out of the closet, please? We have met the enemy, and it is us — Pogo
Sorry for the late reply, but I've been running around to meetings all day. Busy day at the PES, we're trying to report on the recent SPD congress in Hamburg - there will be some videos up tomorrow. I'll crosspost them here when they're on YouTube.
I've just talked to the campaign group and we all agree that we would be very happy to receive your contributions. If you have any posts for the site, you can send them to me and I'll crosspost. You'll find my e-mail in my user profile.
One of you has already been very active in discussing biofuels and if you want to do a new entry on this, describing your view, I think it would be a great idea. Sara * http://www.manifesto2009.pes.org
