Great self portrait.  Did you have to get the camera to focus in the dark for this or was the laser light enough to autofocus?  That's the bit I find hardest in low light conditions, to focus correctly, I just can't tell through the viewfinder. Great shot though!

It was manual focus, with the main light on. But still quite a bit of fumbling to find the focus point in the dark after it had been set.

Dark focus is always a problem outdoors. If it's something static and fairly close you can help the AF along with a good torch.
