The Biograph was an old fashioned single screen art film house that opened in 1967. I was one of the founders and worked in it almost all my working life. It's safe to say that it became an institution in Washington and it is still written about in the Washington Post 11 years after its closing. It became very well known nationally in its niche industry because of its unique programming. My partner was the programmer and I was the business manager- we had other theatres also but the Biograph was the famous one and our love. The others were just for making money.
