Yes, he's been a member of IRAM since before the building of the Plateau de Bure observatory. (he's one of the scientists there). He now is involved in the building of ALMA, testing antennas in the States right now...

I got to go up there a few times, and even to spend the new year's eve there once, before the cable-car accident
