If Page won't be back until April, I'd say let's shoot for next summer.  In fact, maybe around the time (before or after) of the Netroots Nation thing, so if anyone is going to that, they'll only have to make one trip to the southwest.  Piggyback on the convention?  (I habe no intention of going, but I assume Page, MaryB & Jerome are...)

Netroots Nation will be held July 17-20 in Austin, Texas.

(thanks and a hat tip to Wife of Bath for the info.)

Albuquerque is about 700 miles from Austin so its one long days drive or another plane trip.

To be fair, just getting from on place to another in NM often requires "one long days drive."  :)

Just trying to think of the needs of others...  Forgive me.

I think getting from one place to another anywhere in the Southwest requires one long day's drive.

If you have the meet-up in Austin around July 17-20, I will be there.

I am planning a long overdue trip out there anyway, and that time period happens to work well for me.  Did not know Netroots Nation was happening at the same time, but sounds like another good reason (besides the migas at Julio's, the frozen margaritas at Trudy's, and salsa dancing at Oasis above Lake Travis, of course.)

Having said that, Albuquerque retains a mystical hold on me from a day and a night I spent there on a road-trip in college, and I have always wanted to visit the High Church of Complexitology in Santa Fe.

But Austin would be a near sure thing for me; Albuquerque would be harder to swing.

Besides Wife of Bath, are there any other EuroTribbers living in central Texas?

Truth unfolds in time through a communal process.

I have no objections to having the ET Meet-Up there, then.

Whether we (Elaine & I) could make it is unknown.

Austin would be great, too.  I've never visited, but I've heard it's a fantastic town.
