I'll start off with a view from the bottom of my garden, taken this morning as the frost was melting from the valley.

Followed by the abandoned railway bridge over the river as I go into town.

and finishing off with the highstreet of my local town, at the end of the rushhour.(compare that to InWales rush hour photo, Bliss) The building on the right hand side with the clock tower, is the town hall and magistrates court. Dylan Thomas was once brought up there on Firearms charges, after an argument. He was found not guilty.

I might go up into the hills this afternoon and add pictures of abandoned villages.

I like abandoned villages. There's one on the way out to Aberystwyth, probably not that far from you? It was a village in an old quarry, everything built out of grey slate, with the hillside covered in nothing but chunks of slate and all that is left are the walls of some of the houses and some leftover bits from the quarry works. Never knew the name of the area though when we stopped by.

I think I know the one, it's out towards the brecons from here, probably 15 miles away. although there are quite a few in the area. the whole area is studded with abandoned lead mines and the ruins of the communities when they shut down.

Although in fairness it really ought to be "The Multicultural Festicular Decorations of an Illuminary Nature" Photoblog. Not everybody believes in Santa Claus.

Aren't they the sort of dodgy foreign types that Europes border controls are meant to keep out? (or are they the sort of rich well trained foreigner that's better employed as a shelf stacker or toilet cleaner in the european socialist welfare state)?

Yes, but it brings out all of the imperfections. being able to shrink it means I don't have to work on a couple of problems, but if you want it I can sort it out ;-)
