Hey, Grandma Moses started late!
by LEP (rafifoon@yahoo.com) on Fri Nov 30th, 2007 at 04:18:24 AM EST
A photographer friend of mine is teaching me how to shoot in "raw" and use photoshop. This is my first try. I had a delicious cous cous lunch this week in a little cafe restaurant in the 18th (which I couldn't finish- most unusual for me) for 8.50 euros. I took this photo- its rather a sombre restaurant but thanks to photoshop it became 5 star.

I'll post the original photo later.

The nephew of my stepson. He reminds me of Alfred E. Neuman.

LOL! It's probably you compare it to what you have seen with your own eyes.

No, I thought the camera position could have been better, and the light. The site  had possibilities, but I find the picture somewaht unsatisfactory.

In other owrds, it is less good than what you have seen with your own eyes (and thought of capturing). While we aren't comparing your picture to what it could have been.

I'm not much of an indoor photographer, but have kind-of indoor photos...

Inside the glass dome of a temple of democracy, the German Reichstag (looking at Merkel's home, the "Federal Washing Machine"):

Inside Strasbourg's Cathedral:

Inside a railway cathedral -- Frankfurt's:

Inside the concourse of another -- Brest's:

...and a separate, even more tendentious series...

Inside an ICE-1 high-speed train of the German Railways:

Inside a TGV Réseau high-speed train of the French State Railways:

Inside a German Railways double-deck train:

Inside a Frankfurt area S-Bahn train:

Unfortunately, it is a pretty standard station photo, little inspired. I a more proud of the first (with the red bag) and the last (with the sunlight).

It may not be inspired but the contrasts are very good. And besides, I look at it and I expect Harry Lime to get off the next train.
