The continued acts of the small but improperly contained far-right here continue to give me a sense of Weimar.

Item 1: the Hungarian Guard (see Hungary: Another Autumn of Discontent) announced a 'protest march' against unchecked criminality in a village, obviously aiming at 'Gypsy criminality' (Gypsies being here what blacks were in the fifties US South). After some chaos, the major had the sense to withdraw his permission, explicitely naming the planned protest an anti-Gypsy racist operation. But it was held anyway -- though not the planned 500, 'only' 300 pairs of jackboots came in locksteo carrying humanoid zombies,it was the sight the far-right wanted.

Item 2: some the loony and violence-ready endge of the far-right 'formed' yet another freedom-fighting (terrorist) group, which threw Molotov cocktails at the houses of two government politicians, and beat up and robbed a former politician while shouting anti-semitic abuse, sending a photo of his stolen car key to a far-right internet forum. Now the beat-up is an extreme example of the insanity of politics here.

Sándor Csintalan used to be a high-ranked Socialist politician. Then he got embroiled in some corruption affairs, and was avoided like plague. After a while, he was kicked out, after which he became a TV show host, and a poster boy for the right-populist opposition's aim to  woo former Socialist voters. So what did he say after having been beaten with iron rods? That it was by far-right elements paid by the Socilaist Party!...

Seems as tho' we have an answer for Frank Schnittger's question. All european countries discriminate against gypsies.
