"Square Carpeaux is a pleasant splash of green in the 18th arrondissement.   There is a playground for the neighborhood's children, lots of benches under beautiful shady trees, and even a fin-de-siècle bandstand.   (Alas, the bandstand is being refitted and is not used at present.)

The Square is named for Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux (1827 - 1875), a sculptor-artist and graduate of the School of Beaux-Arts of Paris."
