I suggest that we convene a meeting of experts to decide the optimal seating pattern. I'm sure that between sociologists, economists and physical scientitsts we'll be rapidly successful.

Just use a MonteCarlo-Metropolis algorithm with extremal dynamics: every 15 minutes, the persons that have spoken themost and the least over the past 15 minutes exchange seats.

Hey! Ok, you're right -- I have been suspiciously silent online. I assure you, though, that in real life I've been talking up a storm. Problem is, I'm not saying anything fit for public consumption or that I was to live for eternity on google. :-)
