Okay.  Have I got this right?  A splinter group is formed when one Especially Generous Observer (EGO) has had enough of another EGO for reasons which have nothing to do with EGO but, instead, are reasons founded upon the hightest, most noblest, mostest mostest most unbesmearchably true...deep...reasons...and my EGO just can't take any more!  Revolution brothers and sisters!  Me in charge!  But, hey, we're all leaders, right?  Right.
