The strange thing is the weather in this part of France is not so very hot this summer.

But this is surely the invisible hand of the market at work: temperature rises, demand for beans goes down, causing temperatures to fall again.

June last year was heatwave time. Last Saturday was one of the few warm days for some time - and we're really down to cold now, with more bad weather to come.

But the really bad stuff seems to be hitting further north...
