After two weeks of autumn, we are having a short warm period here (peaking at 26°C early next week). But the Danube is still flooding. This morning, I ended up doing a two-hour walk wading through mud with the dog, along a bike road the flood just receded from.
What's the weather where you are?

Yesterday, we tried to take the boat out for the first time since I've been here.  (I'm only now getting strong enough to handle getting on and off of it.)  After months of drought... it rained.  We got soaked.  But it's nice & sunny now.

We badly needed the rain, actually.  Wells have been going dry all summer, and farmers around here have lost about 60 percent of their crop.  (Which is now mostly corn, thanks to ethanol....)  So yesterday's showers (probably a remnant of Hurricane Humberto) were too little, too late.

Today I spent two hours wandering the beaches around the town of Newquay on the Cardigan coast. Dylan Thomas spent   some time there and several of the characters and locations in Under milk wood are based on people  and places in Newquay at the time.

Hold on!  I'm trying to get all the photos off the cards, most are RAW files which will take some extra processing.

I did come across a rather dashing sheep, which I shot in jpeg so I'll go and find him.

Urgh. I have no idea how that became 800pixels.  I cropped it to 600x400...

Auto resize on?

On photobucket, you can remove a picture and then upload aother under the same name, so the embedding in your comment would remain the same.

San Remo, Ventimiglia, St. Agnes and La Turbie all report in at 28 degrees today, with clear skies, but with enough humidity to prevent photos of more than 20 kilometers.

Could use some of that rain stuff, but one supposes that it will come soon enough.

24 degrees C. a pleasant fall day, thankfully free of the smoky skies we had a week or two ago because of the forest fires in the sierra nevada. not bad at all.

Traditional September Indian Summer here, but with a hint of autumn bite.

I've been trying to clear my office.

I have too much stuff. (Did I mention I have too much stuff?)

I now have slightly less too much stuff, but still much more too much stuff than I want or need.
