This HDR photo is stunning. I've run against the limited dynamic range of my digital "bridge" this summer while doing bright sunlight shots.

Does this mean I could tell my camera to do an exposure-bracketing series of shots of a scene, apply some software magic to it, and then produce a super-dynamic image ? A whole world of possibilities would open...

You need three exposure-bracketed shots, after which you use a software which combines them. I've used Photomatix, which is not free but cheap, but there are other options as well. http://wiki.panotools.org/HDR_Software_overview has some good info.

You have a normal feeling for a moment, then it passes. --More--
