I'll have to check. When I first moved to Finland there was an even older type that had a ticket collector seated by the rear entrance door. Now there is just a driver - you either punch in a 10 trip prepaid card or pay the driver. It is all done on trust, since you can jump on through any door if you have a season ticket. There are inspectors however, and I believe there are even plain-clothes ones. Oh, and you can also pay by mobile.

I wish we still had trams in Cardiff, they got rid of the system a long time ago.
