This is in the Stonewall bar, which saw the beginnings of the gay rights movement - a very important place. We made and left cranes of peace everywhere we went and gave one to the barman here. These cocktails (that they drink in Sex and the City) were topped up all afternoon and into the evening, some we paid for but most were free. It lead to my most embarrassing drunken episode ever, which fortunately I have no memory of. A very eventful day. I slept off my hangover in Central Park.
Technically not a very good photo, but it has a great story to it.

A likely story ;-) Any idiot can face a crisis - it's day to day living that wears you out.
Enjoy your cocktail party then!!
It is the only time I have ever lost my memory when drunk. And judging by eyewitness accounts I really haven't ever embarrased myself so much before or since. Ad astra per aspera
after all if you were drunk enough you might not remember not remembering. Any idiot can face a crisis - it's day to day living that wears you out.
In the space of time I lost my memory I was functioning, my friend got me across the NY subway and out and we were walking back to the hotel when I realised that I'd just missed an hour. I was in the bar and then suddenly I was nearly back at the hotel, that's how I remember it. It's never happened before or since.
Usually no matter how drunk I have been, I can remember everything (except perhaps the fine detail of what I was saying.) I have friends who have the complete blanks quite frequently but it's the only time it ever happened to me, I was just astounded by it. Ad astra per aspera
Anyway, I'm still waiting to hear what embarassing things you did sloshed on French martinis... :) "Pretending that you already know the answer when you don't is not actually very helpful." ~Migeru.
But basically we made loads of these cranes and left them everywhere we went. I like the idea of some random person seeing one of our cranes and smiling at it, or thinking about who put it there and why. Ad astra per aspera
