  1.  I was at that march too!

  2.  My friend and I were just discussing these, as she's planning to christen my new place with a SATC party, at which vodka and Chambord martinis will be served. Yum!  :)

  3.  How do you know it was your most embarrassing drunken episode ever if you have no memory of it?

Wasn't that march just incredible?  I had to be there, it was historical. I'm so glad I could make it.  The atmosphere in Washington coming up to the march was amazing.

Enjoy your cocktail party then!!

It is the only time I have ever lost my memory when drunk.  And judging by eyewitness accounts I really haven't ever embarrased myself so much before or since.

as far as you can remember...

after all if you were drunk enough you might not remember not remembering.

Ah no!  What happened was that I suddenly came to (even though I hadn't been unconscious). I suddenly became conscious of having not remembered where I had just been 5 minutes ago or 1 hour ago or anything in between that.

In the space of time I lost my memory I was functioning, my friend got me across the NY subway and out and we were walking back to the hotel when I realised that I'd just missed an hour. I was in the bar and then suddenly I was nearly back at the hotel, that's how I remember it. It's never happened before or since.

Usually no matter how drunk I have been, I can remember everything (except perhaps the fine detail of what I was saying.)  I have friends who have the complete blanks quite frequently but it's the only time it ever happened to me, I was just astounded by it.

Thanks, I will enjoy my party.  And yes, that march (the 2nd of its kind I'd been to) was amazing.  Too bad the whole freakin' country ignored it.  I think it was the largest of its kind there to date.

Anyway, I'm still waiting to hear what embarassing things you did sloshed on French martinis...  :)
