I went to the "Paris-100 years in color"
(

)
photo exhibition at the Hotel de Ville. At great personal risk to myself, so that you all could share the experience with me I took many photos. The legality of that was questionable.Here's several of the earlier photos from almost 100 years ago.

That was the 1919 July 14th. Which, indeed, was used to celebrate the end of the war. (I was there too !)

Linca means he was with me at the photo exhibition. He was NOT at the celebration in 1919.

Glad you cleared that up. ;-)

P.S. I'll post my shots of the photos from the 30's, 40,s and 50's in next week's photo blog. The one's made during the Petain years and the Nazi occupation are quite informative.

Are you talking about the German soldier who took to photograph bathing parisian women ? The "leg man" as you were referring to him ?

No. Unfortunately, I didn't get those. (They would be nice for my private collection.) I did get some of the billboard propaganda from Petain's government, and the obvious Nazi takeover of Paris with the prominence of the swatstica.
