for you, isn't it.  If it were in August, we could all get a wagon on the TranSiberian in June and meet you in Shanghai.

I hope das monde, Zwackus and others make it and you have a good time, blogging included.

It does!

(I've actually been thinking of realizing my longtime dream of taking the Trans-Siberian train to China next summer..)

Hm. Think they'd have facilities for a three-month old on board?

Hmmmmmmm... Depends on what he/she might need. Boiled water for hygienic stuff? Lots, from the samovars (do they still have samovars?) Place to change diaper? You can always use the not-so-comfortable bed. Food? Well, most kids that age have their own foodstuff with them, traveling with their mother. :-)

Come, my friends, 'Tis not too late to seek a newer world.

Nice little trip?

A pleasure

we could all get a wagon on the TranSiberian in June and meet you in Shanghai.

Or Beijing, if you make it here in time for Ba-Ba-Ba (]200]8-8-8).

And even if we cannot watch any of the events, there are at least two reasons why Beijing might be more interesting than Shanghai:

  • there are for more historical and cultural things to see and do there than in Shanghai

  • seeing Beijing, the city, in the upheaval of these historic Olympics, will be a once in a lifetime experience for sure.

Not to mention that Beijing is (slightly) less sweltering than Shanghai in the summer.
