I optimistically believe that through the use of the emerging partnership-based models - within which risk and reward are shared equitably - we will come to understand that Ethical is, in fact, Optimal.
And I suspect that part of that success will come through the eventual replacement of the self-oriented profit motive with an other/community-oriented giving/helping/support motive underlying economic transactions. Truth unfolds in time through a communal process.
