I went back in time and read the precedent pictures blogs (or diaries, or salon ?) to see from where we came from (I did miss a lot being out of ET for some time) !
The "salon" format (history, nowadays, klatsch, etc.) might be a good idea, as it triggers appropriate responses... I just hope the server doesn't go haywire with all that bandwidth used !
After all, we do live in a picture driven society... A friend of mine once asked me "What do we do with the artifacts of image"?... I'm still musing about it without having a answer !
Still, photography is the "enfant du siècle" (child of the century), because of that, it's nice that ET found a place for it :-) Next time we might chat about Capa's "Mexican suitcase" and HCB's beliefs ? Thanks' again ... "What can I do, What can I write, Against the fall of Night". A.E. Housman
I bought a new DVD of Seven Samurai to refresh my memory and it turned out to be a crappy Chinese knock-off without subtitles. And it is far too exotic for my local rental store - though I did find 'Garden State' amd 'It's all gone Peter Tong' with Paul Kaye, on Friday. You can't be me, I'm taken
"Poor villagers threatened by financial bandits enlist the help of Don Jérôme and six other theoryslingers. In the final battle the bandits are routed, but the Seven lose their mortgages. The peasants meanwhile hear that they have won the lottery and buy plasma TVs for everyone in the village" You can't be me, I'm taken
