I'm willing to buy the idea that there are those in government that want to suppress information, but similar scandals in the past have come out despite such attempts. The Pentagon Papers and the Iran-Contra affair are good examples.
In a country like the US there are still news outlets which would be happy to run with a scoop, they don't have to be very big ones either. A journalist like I.F. Stone was able to break some important stories during his heyday and he only put out a four page newsletter with a tiny circulation. So postulating a conspiracy that could cause all US media to clam up doesn't seem likely.
One reason that this story is not getting any play may be that those in the US who have looked into it find the information not credible. Perhaps they have other sources of information which contradict Edmonds, or perhaps they can't get any one to corroborate her claims. Whatever the reason there has to be one.
If the claims are true then getting supporting information from elsewhere would seem to be a priority if any more is going to come out of this affair. Policies not Politics ---- Daily Landscape
As far as deciding that the story is not credible there are a couple of thoughts:
It has been deemed to be newsworthy in a number of other countries, and since when have the US press cared about the credible nature of a story? We are for Justice and Mercy, and Truth and Peace, and true Freedom. Edward Burroughs 1659
Our "news" is really controlled now by two corporations plus the heavy hand of Homeboy Security in this "post 911 world", and other such upchuck material.
Even if .00001 percent of what Sibel says is true I support all of it 100000 percent. You may have to channel the dead though to confirm any of it.
