Can anyone explain the 300 point drop in the last hour of US trading? It's not that i don't understand the market being decoupled from reality, nor do i misunderstand volatility in volatile times. But what?

Man am i glad my job doesn't involve that kind of ((sh*t)). Imagine doing that all day, and you get to say once again (lost in the noise) "the taxpayers got hosed."

People probably want to sell any position they have at the end of the day to avoid being caught overnight with paper that will lose 5-10-20-40% the next morning as a new nationalisation/bankruptcy/downgrade is announced in the early hours of the morning...

As the Dow was in positive territory, they just sold to be on the safe side.

Hey, it's consistent with data, and sounds smart. Can I play a pundit on TV?

There are a couple of meanings for 'pundit'. I prefer this one: the clandestine surveyor.
