I sat on this for two months not so much because of the text, but because I wanted to go across hundreds of pictures in one go. In the end, I just ditched my self-imposed limit of a dozen pictures -- people tolerate more in Photo Blogging diaries anyway...

Thanks for this trip. As an American unfamiliar with much of the geography of eastern Europe, I had to get a map up for orientation. It is a beautiful region.

Oh, BTW, sorry about the map -- I normally strive to provide maps when writing about my region. Maybe I can dig up good ones for my sequel (railway photos along the same journey).
