Sir Nigel's letter is complimentary about the Democrat in places. Mr Obama's speeches are "elegant" and "mesmerising", he is "highly intelligent" and has "star quality", he said.

Same here.  An election thread is too tempting to pass, although the Spanish ones are more active right now.  The diary is about done, like dozens of others and I have to find time to proof and post.

Zapatero´s tone almost worried me about possible fraud today when he said:  "I hope it´s an election of convergence...".  But I think he was being diplomatic to avoid supporting Obama.
