Whether Emanuel can/will play a constructive role in it or not -- I have no idea. We'll find out, I suppose. If the plan is to make some progress there, then certainly having a guy like Emanuel around to provide cover would likely prove useful.
I don't know a whole helluva lot about him, other than broad stuff. He's centrist but partisan, like I said. But, again, I think the choice of him has a lot more to do with Chicago and his knowledge of the Hill than any other issues. WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
