FRONT PAGE IT!!!! "Once in awhile we get shown the light, in the strangest of places, if we look at it right" - Hunter/Garcia
(Hi Len, I'm doing well, thanks...busy with work, but that's a NICE problem! How about you? Its snowing here in St Gallen!!)
And a BIG thanks from me too, to In Wales and LEP for creating, nurturing, encouraging, promoting and hosting this diary ! May it long be a tradition!! "Once in awhile we get shown the light, in the strangest of places, if we look at it right" - Hunter/Garcia
Cheers...and kudos!! "Once in awhile we get shown the light, in the strangest of places, if we look at it right" - Hunter/Garcia
And maybe posting one picture for each post (instead of severals) would allow for a better sorting out on a "per picture" basis, with appropriate replies, instead of saying "the #2 is great!" (I know, I sound like a P.I.T.A. !)
Just some thoughts... (ducking under the table saying "not on the head, not on the head..!" ) "What can I do, What can I write, Against the fall of Night". A.E. Housman
But it is definitely a topic worth discussing again. It seems to be a mix of server issues and whether people have broadband or not. Some people can't access photobucket etc and so don't want thumbnails but the full size photo to see directly here. Ad astra per aspera
Most people will find it easily downloadable, so too bad for the others. But may I suggest fewer photos, so there can be a bit more discussion like last week? Once the number of photos gets high (to be discussed!), it might be possible to make a call to stop posting any more for that week?
The thing about the photoblog that makes it hard to work out how best to run it is that it can be so variable. Some photos invite lots of comments and others can be great but there isn't always a discussion point. Then some themes like this one surprise me by people having loads of photos to post.
We could look to doing a spin-off blog on the weeks where a theme seems to be really popular, and ask people to post in the spin-off if they have more under one of the themes they wish to post. Or limit people to X photos each per week? Ad astra per aspera
does that mean I've got a credit saving of about seven perdiary to use? ;-) Any idiot can face a crisis - it's day to day living that wears you out.
Still, I do agree on some limits, as it makes for harder choices and is always useful for one's learning !
I would exempt the three "bloggers" as they may need to push further by posting new pictures ?! "What can I do, What can I write, Against the fall of Night". A.E. Housman
And how do you tell lurkers and newcomers that the Photo Blog now on the FP calls for this and that settings change for those without high bandwidth?
And warning users to beware of loading the thread is simply a matter of asking InWales and LEP to insert the appropriate text above the fold... Un roi sans divertissement est un homme plein de misères
Until we add a photo uploading service to ET, that is. Un roi sans divertissement est un homme plein de misères
