I don't know if photobucket times out or not. It can sometimes be a bit slow for me when I am using it.

The thing about the photoblog that makes it hard to work out how best to run it is that it can be so variable.  Some photos invite lots of comments and others can be great but there isn't always a discussion point.  Then some themes like this one surprise me by people having loads of photos to post.

We could look to doing a spin-off blog on the weeks where a theme seems to be really popular, and ask people to post in the spin-off if they have more under one of the themes they wish to post.  Or limit people to X photos each per week?

Set a rough limit for the photos in any one blog, and call time when that limit is reached. Yes, and suggest spin-offs if a topic seems popular. (A spin-off can be posted immediately..?) Or put off till the next week for "standard" offerings.

This week's blog seems to have a record number of photos, maybe close to 150. Normally sixty is a good showing. If this volume continues and is a problem, we can limit the number of photos for any one blogger to let's say 10 per blog to start. (I get extra because I post for estHer while she's in school.)
Then if one blogger has too big a "photo imprint" he can buy photoblog credits from the other bloggers. Linca can set up the "photoblog credit exchange." I'm telling everyone right now mine are not for sale.

I've always worked on a rough limit of three per diary, (but a very flexible three ;-)

does that mean I've got a credit saving of about seven perdiary to use? ;-)

I must have used all my credits till the end of february...! :-(

Still, I do agree on some limits, as it makes for harder choices and is always useful for one's learning !

I would exempt the three "bloggers" as they may need to push further by posting new pictures ?!
