There were about 1 million Christians in Iraq. Already under Saddam the number was slowly shrinking, but the sectarian violance has nearly extinguished Christianity in the Iraq.
Pope John Paul II has several times, before the war as well as after it started, tried to call attention of the Bush administration to the fate of these Christians. They have done just nothing. The ancestors of these Christians lived there many hundreds of years under Muslim authority and they have the right to do so even under Sharia law.
As well in many other parts of the world, Christians are a endangered minority, dependent on the good will of the majority, which often sees the US as a Christian country.
The behavior of the US has never really respected that and put Christians in periphery into live danger. If Christianity today has an enemy it is George W Bush.

These Iraqis are not 'white', but I don't think there is much racism in the US. At least not in the political elite class. But they are nationalistic as Germans before WW I.
Despite actually up to now nothing really has happend and Sarko has tried to improve relations, Romney warned the US could become the France of the 21st century, when he quitted. Some people complain about Antiamericanism in Europe, but I think vice versa it is much worse (Freedom fries, the lies about PonziScheme in the welfare state, ...).

As well the US has already publicly announced, that they would use force to liberate any US citizen from Den Hague.

At least at the start in a trade war the country with the higher trade deficit is stronger. They can put tariffs on our products, but we import few products from them and I don't know if you really want to forbid using google, Windows or watching Hollywood movies.

In summary I'm afraid the US could retaliate quite heavy, if Europeans would really imprison the president of the USA and would do so.
