The larger problem is what, if anything, the next administration will do to prevent a recurrence of these policies in subsequent generations. What I, on a visceral level, would like to see done probably would not be good policy and would "set a bad president" (and vice president--on 8 foot x 3" sharpened hickory stakes planted in the White House lawn.) I can only hope that more effective deterents can be devised. As the Dutch said while fighting the Spanish: "It is not necessary to have hope in order to persevere."
