Oh no, we've never blamed the team.

We blame the "curse." We feel sorry for the team. Having to play while cursed. Not their fault they suck (actually they are doing quite well now) - it's the curse's fault.

I thought the Red Sox were the cursed ones -- the Curse of the Bambino? (Yes, perhaps I reveal my ignorance of baseball here.) Not so much anymore, granted, but they griped about it for decades.
