It wasn't specifically aimed at your diary, although your comments re: far right parties reminded me of something I heard recently about Putin and the Russia preference for Authoritarian systems and distrust of "western style" democracy.

I think what was imposed on Russia in the nineties and was viewed by the local population as "western style" democracy, relative to which Putin's strong hand was viewed as improvement, was rather authoritarian. But it was the authority of economic dependence, imposed reforms, tanks against Parliament, and oligarchs with bodyguards.
