One of the most difficult things about the past few years has been watching these people who stick to their positions and failed ideas no matter what. That, along with the realization that when I'm an old man these arguments will still be going on, just as we still have people who defend the Vietnam war today. I have trouble comprehending a cognitive dissonance so vast and implacable. It's hard to imagine, even when I'm looking right at it. I guess you could say that I have cognitive dissonance about their cognitive dissonance. ;)

Well, they do it for love, and they do it for money.

I suspect that entire multi-generational cohorts, starting with mine, will have to pass away before this changes significantly.  My best revenge would be living long enough to see it happen.

If sanity be culturally normative, then by the norms of this culture I claim insanity.
