I'm recovering from a few parties (friend's birthday, 4th).  I stayed out until 3am the other night, which I haven't done in years.  I feel so old.

The weather here is perfect, if a little hot for me.  But for Chicago, it just doesn't get this good very often...

Also, the Cubs won against the Cards last night (only Maryb can understand the import of this comment) so I'm giving my family some heat for it.  lol.

Cat is happy she can finally sleep without bombs going off outside for the past 48 hours.

I've acquired a free-kea bookcase.

That's about it. I guess.

Seriously? I don't go out partying/barhopping all that often, but when I do I'd say I stay out to three or later about a third of the time. My body also doesn't do hangovers ;) And I believe I'm older than you.

Most of the bars/restaurants I go to shut down at 2 I think.

Leaving a houseparty at 3am and finding the trains have stopped running.  It's been a few years since I've done such a thing.  Besides, this is Chicago.  Everything closes early, unlike NY, so there is that creepy deserted streets feel at 3am.

How old are you?  (I'm 33)

A few hours ago, here it rains, thunder and lightning fall. The light has been cut. It is back but they say they will definitely cut. A lightning strike has fallen very close to my home in the mountains.

Yes, I am. But this is not reality, but a copy of reality! Smokers are tolerant people. But I short to me from the waist up.

Smokers are tolerant people.

Some smokers are. The majority are not.

Expecting to be able to smoke anywhere you want at any time without asking people around you if it's a problem is NOT a sign of tolerance. Not smoking for 10 minutes every 15 minutes is NOT a sign of tolerance. Throwing cigarette butts all over the place is NOT a sign of tolerance.

I also smoke a pipe, and pipe smokers are tolerant. In Madrid, there is an Association of Smokers for Tolerance, with smokers and nonsmokers as members. But I'm trying to quit it, and I ask permission to smoke or I easily abstain from smoking when there are other people who do not smoke or I'm in enclosed spaces. No problem with me.

"Parties" usually implies more than one.  July 4th was a holiday here.  I assumed people just knew that.
