My wrist has been in pain for several days, and the diagnosis has come through, as soon as i was able to see a doctor: tendinitis, most likely caused from too much computer (more precisely, mouse) use.

Sigh. How on earth am I going to cure that? (the official remedy is 10 days' rest)

Can you handle 10 days of Jerome-free ET better than I could?

you might not be typing, but you'd still be watching over us, lol!

bad enough when you leave us for 3-4 days, 10 and we'd come totally unglued, oil might go down to $50 a barrel even...

You must get one of these. I've used an Ergorest for my mouse arm for 10 years without any problems. It takes all the weight off your shoulder as well as protecting the tendon through smooth movement. Best IT investment I made.

According to their research, 65 % of people who work with computers will suffer hospitalization during their career.

It clamps to the desk edge, so it doesn't help when you are on the move with the laptop.

before that, you need to tell my wife to not use her computer in the evening, and to not force me out to our bed or to the floor with the laptop...

Sounds like carpal tunnel syndrome at beginning stages, from experience.  Please take it seriously because the inflammation can make the pain spread up to the shoulder and make you miserable for months.

Get a medical wrist brace and wear it as much as you can.  I don't want to be Jeromeless, even if you growl at me.  (:

P.S.  melo, Jerome needs you!

yeah, i need me too...

take care j, try reversing the stress habit-positions, pulling on the fingers to open the palms and stretch the knucklejoints so to give a chance for the synovial fluid to enter and bathe the whole joint.

get a new mouse too, i like the logitec wireless for ergonomics, but any variety in size and shape would help.

repetitive stress is a bastard, so easy to fall into, and so sneakily incremental.

get deep massage in the forearm and palms, avoiding the wrist itself until the condition is repaired.
