Well, my eldest daughter just got her Baccalauréat and now she's registered at the University.

We're going to celebrate that tomorrow...

That sounds interesting. I hope she will enjoy it!

I assume there is a University in Lyon or is she moving to another city?

There are 4 universities in Lyon, plus many "Grandes Ecoles" for around 125 000 students...

Wow, just realized how uninformed I am about Lyon. :-( Checked the wiki, it is much bigger than I was aware of.

Maybe we really should start a series, where our users write about the place/city they live in. :-)

That sound like way too good organisation for an actual French université...

Just we have stacks of university archaeology textbooks sitting in one of the bookshelves (All in english however) so if she needs any help or advice on any work, i'm sure it can be arranged.

Thanks for the offer, ceebs! She will certainly be interested, but we'll have to wait until she has started to know what she will need.
