Who could have predicted that forcing Kosovan independence could have had this sort of fall-out?

Nobody, clearly.

... anybody could've predicted that this would happen.

Every half-wit that has an inkling of how the world works.

I put up a comment on this in today's Salon a few minutes ago.

Actually I have the impression, a lot of normal people in Germany are happy with both, the independency of South Ossetia, Abkhazia, and the independency of Kosovo.
Just because you name it 'fall-out'. What exactly is the problem?

Actually I would gladly be "happy" with any independency in a world if there are rules and EVERY single minority where ever it can be can have it. For me exactly the problem is that this is not the case and independency rights are reserved for USA/EU friends and only if it is in west's interest. And the other problem for me is that USA /EU like to interfere in other countries business and encourage (read support financially, arm them, give propaganda support all over the world etc.) those groups and minorities in the countries that they have interest to partition.
For example how it is that Serbs in Bosnia who have their own state already organized in side of Bosnia CAN'T and never had a chance to get independence and Kosovo CAN, ruining illegally territorial integrity of Serbia? How is that possible? Just do not tell me that it is because Serbs were not "good" during the war. They organized and battled against enemies of their independence same way Albanians battled Serbians (just minus NATO help). If Serbs were recognized in there would be no war in Bosnia...

Don't you remember? Kosovo's special. Any resemblence to a precedent is purely coincidental.
