I think Hillary supporters are finally coming home.

Obama just surged eight points in two days on the Gallup Tracking Poll, which only includes interviews done after Michelle's and Hillary's speeches.  Because it's a three-day rolling average, that suggests to me that he was ahead by a good bit into double digits last night.

And we had a good night last night at the convention.  Bill cut the shit and did his Big Dawg thing.  Biden did his ineloquent but tough and passionate thing.

Now the big show tonight.  Obama's gotta hit hard on the economy.  Throw a few jabs via mockery at Shithead, but stick to economics, and show some fight.

McCain, always classless and clueless, is going to run an ad addressing Obama directly tonight either before or after his speech.  Sounds to me like there's perhaps some panic going on.

Throw a few jabs via mockery at Shithead,

That's ex-POW Shithead to YOU, Fella.  A little respect for a dottering old fool, why don't ya.

In the end, might makes right. Nothing has changed since the caveman.

The national poll is fine but we need to wait for the state polls.

Ohio is the key.  If Obama can get a pop there we know he had a good convention.

Agreed.  If we win Ohio, this election's over.  Focus on those western states and Virginia, too, though.

That's largely because it's hard to imagine winning Ohio without a rustbelt sweep of Michigan and Pennsylvania as well. We seem to have Iowa solid, and NM pretty close. The only Kerry state outside the rustbelt which is in play seems to be NH, and I'm pretty sure about that one. Or in other words, lose Ohio, and McCain is toast. But CO and VA make for an alternative victory scenario. I want a landslide, but I'll settle for any win. The states where he needs to concentrate his resources are OH, MI, CO, and VA.
