I was thinking along political lines, with the italian and german industrial classes siding with right-wing government in order to quell left wing radicalism. Of course, that radicalism is all but gone.
I don't believe the parallels are so strong, actually, but I don't doubt the divisions still exists. Rien n'est gratuit en ce bas monde. Tout s'expie, le bien comme le mal, se paie tot ou tard. Le bien c'est beaucoup plus cher, forcement. Celine
