Commentary: Is McCain another George W. Bush? - CNN.com
It occurs to me that John McCain is as intellectually shallow as our current president. When asked what his Christian faith means to him, his answer was a one-liner. "It means I'm saved and forgiven." Great scholars have wrestled with the meaning of faith for centuries. McCain then retold a story we've all heard a hundred times about a guard in Vietnam drawing a cross in the sand.

One after another, McCain's answers were shallow, simplistic, and trite. He showed the same intellectual curiosity that George Bush has -- virtually none.

George Bush's record as a student, military man, businessman and leader of the free world is one of constant failure. And the part that troubles me most is he seems content with himself.

He will leave office with the country $10 trillion in debt, fighting two wars, our international reputation in shambles, our government cloaked in secrecy and suspicion that his entire presidency has been a litany of broken laws and promises, our citizens' faith in our own country ripped to shreds. Yet Bush goes bumbling along, grinning and spewing moronic one-liners, as though nobody understands what a colossal failure he has been.

I fear to the depth of my being that John McCain is just like him.

There are plenty of people who think that McCain is even dumber than Bush. As student: bad grades; as pilot: crashed five airplanes; as politician: displayed poor judgement on all sorts of issues... Plus he's senile...

Hey, if I wanted to read a list of McCain's good points, I would read Obama's recent foreign policy statements.

Sorry, there is a joke in there somewhere. Unfortunately, the recent polls (listed hear at dkos) are in and McCain is closing.

Why is this even close? Probably the same reason why Rice and Bush can open their mouths and some people don't see the worms, snakes and fetid soil drolling out?

I understand that there is a 10% criminal class of predatory capitalists, and another 20% robots that think their fate is tied into the fate of GM (perhaps it is!~). So, there is 30% who can be counted on to oppose goodness, light and progress to a better world for all. Who is this other 14%  that don't see that McMoron can't droll and tie his shoelaces at the same time? and who are the undecideds at this point?

This is going to be Nixon revisited, Reagan revisited, BushBush revisited. I am so sad.

Never underestimate their intelligence, always underestimate their knowledge.

This looks like a good place to insert this.

On call-in Washington Journal this morning they have only Repubs calling in on whether JOE LIEBERMAN should be chosen as McCain's running mate.

Yes, McCain, YES, choose LIEBERMAN!  Is that combo OLD and WHITE enough for you America?  War anyone?

Most of the callers are verifiable hicks who don't like Joe.  All these fucking Mongoloid, mouth-breathing idiots.  I truly wish CA could go it alone.  It's like a person wanting to do grad school level work in a class of fucking RETARDS!

If that's the party leadership's main criterion then they're spoiled for choice.
