North Carolina, President:
Obama 46
McCain 46

Senate:
Hagan 46
Dole 41

Hagan's breaking through, and Dole's in the low-40s.  This is even more important than the presidential result.

This should also imply that Obama's lead in Virginia is expanding, even though we didn't get any decent pollsters on the subject late in the week (and thus haven't really seen the full impact of the boomlet on Obama's numbers).  The Old Dominion is now, I think it's fair to say, leaning to the Dems.

Guess this explains why Obama's in Charlotte tomorrow, and why McCain is now suddenly dumping 20 paid staff into the state.  (Caught the arrogant little shit sleepin' on this one.)

I thought for sure NC would snap back to McCain after the convention.  Never fully believed it was a real chance at winning come November.

I'm a believer now.  North Carolina is officially a toss-up.

Do I hear Georgia?

I'm not sure why McCain is doing this. I can't imagine a scenario where we win NC and not VA. We win VA we win the election, barring losing two out of three in the Rust Belt places.

In related news, should I go to VA or Missouri? I'm leaning VA since I see it as both more doable and more key, but a friend is trying to get me to join her in KC.

Virginia.  Missouri's just not happening this year, in my opinion.  Or if it is, we won't need it by that point, and Virginia will have flipped.

Also, it makes sense for McCain to do this, because he's so far behind on the ground game in NC, even farther behind on it than in VA.
