They've become a joke, a punchline, a laughing stock.
And I think they overplayed their hand--put out their ransom demands over a weekend when the markets were quiet, but people had a chance to read about it, and to think. And they got mad!
It's not a done deal yet, but I'm increasingly optimistic that perhaps people are waking up just a little bit from the fear-induced stupor of the last several years.
