There was a snail in my allegedly vegan sandwich today.

I was having lunch but strangely lost my appetite.  And your logic doesn't work when I find a still alive snail in what would have been my next bite of food.

Finding half of one :-))

I once found a grasshopper in my salad greens.  I guess the point is that if you insist on everything organic and farm fresh you're going to get some critters in your food now and then.

Besides, snails are what I technically classify as "meat-plants."  I mean, they're really blurring that line, gastropods.

Come, my friends, 'Tis not too late to seek a newer world.

Bit like the Jains, the very strict vegetarian sect in India. Their diet was so poor that nutritionists couldn't work out how they got enough to stay alive. Turns out the protein balance was made up by bugs that got inadvertantly ground into their flour.

Shoulda asked for some garlic sauce.

I do know someone who dealt with complaints at a certain unnamed breakfast cerial/buscuit factory, They did have one returned with half a mouse in the biscuit.

That would be Auguste Pierre Flambé, the noted 19th Century French philosopher - and co-author, with  James Frederick Ferrier, of  'Epistemologie, mon derriére'?

I could understand finding larvae in a sandwich, which has happened before but I don't really see how an entire snail made it through the greens washing process.
